Trent Stuckey and Elena Bodi Dominate 2024 Red Bull WakeDuel

In a spectacular showcase of skill and determination, American wakeboarder Trent Stuckey and Spain’s Elena Bodi claimed victory at the prestigious 2024 Red Bull WakeDuel, hosted at Lithuania’s renowned 313 cable park. This ninth edition of the event drew top wakeboarding talent from around the globe, all vying for glory on a challenging course.

The competition kicked off with an intense international qualification day, where 32 men and 16 women battled it out for coveted spots in the main event. Among the women, River Hendrick and Claudia Pagnini were touted as favorites, but it was Elena Bodi who ultimately prevailed, defeating Katinka Buiting in a thrilling final. Claudia Pagnini secured third place after a hard-fought match against Sanne Meijer, reflecting on her achievement with gratitude: “Crazy. I don’t have words to describe how I feel right now. Just thanks to everyone, because that’s why I’m here. I’m so happy,” said Bodi.

On the men’s side, Gavin Stuckey and Pedro Caldas put up fierce competition, setting the stage for an epic showdown between brothers Trent and Gavin Stuckey in the final. Trent emerged victorious, marking his second triumph of the week after also clinching the Best Air Trick title earlier. Reflecting on his win, Trent Stuckey remarked, “I went head-to-head with Gavin in the semi-finals last year, and he took the win from me, so it was nice to get it back from him. It means a lot. We got super lucky with the draws, starting on opposite sides and meeting in the final. Also, the park has so many features and so many possibilities. It brings out your creative side.”

Red Bull WakeDuel 2024 delivered exceptional performances and thrilling moments, solidifying its reputation as a premier event in the wakeboarding world. The competition not only showcased the incredible talent of its participants but also highlighted the sport’s dynamic and competitive spirit.

Abelson Sets Pending World Tricks Record At Masters Qualifier

Jake Abelson (Holderness, N.H.) set his second pending men’s world tricks record in the past two weeks on Friday at the Nautique Masters Qualifying Series 1 event at Lake Ledbetter in Winter Garden, Fla.

Abelson scored 12,970 points – the highest score among all competitors in either round of the tournament – in round 2 to earn a spot in the 2024 Nautique Masters. If approved by the International Waterski & Wakeboard Federation, the score will eclipse the current world record of 12,690 points held by Mexico’s Patricio Font.
The 64th Nautique Masters Water Ski & Wakeboard Tournament, presented by GM Marine, will be held May 25-26 at Callaway Gardens’ Robin Lake in Pine Mountain, Ga.

Abelson also set a pending men’s world tricks record of 12,720 points on April 28 at the Ski Fluid Classic in Polk City, Fla.

Font has a pending world tricks record of 12,770 points in review by the IWWF that he set on April 20 at the Swiss Pro Tricks in Clermont, Fla. Abelson, 16, had set a pending Open Men national tricks record of 12,230 points at that tournament.

Great Britain’s Joel Poland set a pending world overall record of 2,674 points at the Ski Fluid Classic after scoring 1 at 41 off in slalom, 11,680 points in tricks and 231 feet in jump. Poland is the current men’s world overall record holder (2,670.62 points).
