Great Britain’s Jeremy Newby-Ricci emerged victorious at the 55k World Elite Slalom Tour Event (WEST) #7, hosted by H2O Pro Shop on June 29-30. Held at Little Mountain Waterski Club in Maiden, N.C., this event marked a significant milestone in the prestigious competition’s history.

Now in its fifth year, 55k WEST has solidified its reputation as a premier platform for elite slalom skiers worldwide. The competition featured a full roster of 32 mph slalom specialists, culminating in an intense head-to-head finale that showcased the sport at its highest level.

Newby-Ricci clinched the title by defeating Gilbert, Arizona’s Mark Menasci in a thrilling final showdown. He scored an impressive 1 buoy at 41 feet off, while Menasci secured 5-1/2 buoys at 39-1/2 feet off. Canada’s David Miller, Greg Sund from Stony Brook, New York, and Jason Peckham from Cato, New York, rounded out the top five placements, underscoring the international competitiveness of the event.
