Exciting Wins at the 24th Junior U.S. Open Water Ski Championships

The 24th Junior U.S. Open Water Ski Championships concluded with nine athletes claiming titles in their respective events at the San Marcos River Ranch in Martindale, Texas, from June 28-30. This historic tournament featured a three-day format with world-record capability, including two preliminary rounds and a final round, a first in its history. Competing in Junior Men/Junior Women and Boys/Girls divisions, top junior water ski athletes showcased their skills in slalom, tricks, jumping, and overall performance.

U.S. athletes dominated the podiums, with notable victories including Dylan Anderson in Junior Boys’ slalom, BG Bickley sweeping Junior Boys’ tricks, jump, and overall titles, and Cameron Davis excelling in Junior Girls’ slalom, jump, and overall categories. Emma Goldstein, Carter Reese, Gage Kacprowicz, Allyson Grathwohl, and Sage Pottbecker also secured impressive wins in their respective events, highlighting their prowess and dedication to the sport.

Noteworthy moments included Carter Reese’s thrilling runoff victory in Junior Men slalom and Emma Goldstein’s decisive performance in the Junior Women slalom runoff. The competition underscored the talent and competitiveness of young water ski athletes on a global scale.
