Erika Lang of Gilbert, Arizona, showcased her mastery in water skiing by clinching the women’s tricks title at the 2024 Monaco Slalom Cup held in Roquebrune-sur-Argens, Monaco. Competing against top-tier athletes from around the globe, Lang secured her victory with a dazzling performance in the finals, scoring an impressive 11,180 points. This achievement followed her outstanding preliminary round where she earned the top seed with 11,030 points.

Lang’s win was a testament to her skill and determination, outperforming her closest competitors. Anna Hunter from Winter Garden, Florida, claimed second place with 10,670 points, while Neilly Ross of Canada secured third place with 10,610 points. The competition was fierce, with athletes like Alexia Abelson showcasing strong performances throughout.

In the men’s division, Chile’s Matias Gonzalez took the spotlight in tricks, scoring a remarkable 12,410 points to seize the top spot. Mexico’s Patricio Font followed closely with 12,370 points, demonstrating the high level of competition at the event. Ukraine’s Danylo Filchenko and Jake Abelson from Holderness, New Hampshire, also delivered commendable performances to secure their places among the top competitors.

The tournament also featured gripping slalom competitions, with Canada’s Jaimee Bull and Great Britain’s Will Asher emerging as champions in their respective categories. Bull conquered the women’s slalom with a standout performance, navigating the course to score 1 buoy at 41 feet off in the finals. Meanwhile, Asher dominated the men’s slalom, achieving an impressive score of 6 at 41 off to claim the title.

The Monaco Slalom Cup 2024 proved to be a thrilling showcase of athleticism and skill in water skiing, with competitors pushing the limits of their abilities across slalom and tricks disciplines. As Erika Lang and other champions celebrated their victories, they cemented their places among the elite in the world of professional water skiing.
